9TH GRADERS
Fresh Start is the launchpad for high school.
Campers spend three days on the Mighty Pine River navigating rapids, cooking over camp stoves, and sleeping under the stars. It’s a woodsy week that prepares them to handle the pressure of the next four years with courage and a clear sense of their identity in Jesus.

Christ-Centered Counselors
Lake Ann Camp counselors are here for more than supervision; they’re here to connect with campers. Through honest conversations, bible exploration, and worship, our staff helps campers see that following Jesus isn’t abstract or distant, but personal, joyful, and worth living for.
“In a teenager’s world of pressures and unknowns, the Lord becomes KNOWN and REAL at Lake Ann Camp! No regrets. GO!”

FAQ's
Fresh Start is a three-day, two-night river adventure designed for rising 9th graders who are ready for an outdoor adventure. Campers should be comfortable following outdoor routines and participating in river activities. Rising 9th graders who aren’t ready for this type of adventure may choose to attend Senior High instead.
Campers spend three days and two nights on the river, learning rafting skills, outdoor living, and teamwork. Days include paddling, river games, hiking, campfire activities, and group challenges. Nights are spent in tents with counselors guiding routines and safety.
Safety is our top priority. All campers wear life jackets during river activities, and trained counselors supervise every moment. Counselors are certified in CPR, and the public river route is familiar and chosen to match the skill and comfort level of Fresh Start campers.
Campers should bring clothing suitable for paddling and outdoor activity, modest swimwear, closed-toed shoes, toiletries, a water bottle, and a sleeping bag. A detailed packing list can be found here.
Meals on the river trip are nutritious, filling, and designed to keep campers energized for paddling and activities. Campers enjoy a mix of hearty breakfasts, packed lunches, and dinners around the campfire. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice.
A health officer and lifeguards accompany campers on the river trip. Counselors are trained to respond to minor injuries and health concerns, and a doctor is on call for emergencies.
